We are in full election mode, as everyone knows. The chart on the left offers a glimpse of the top 30 constituencies that Italian Canadians call home. Note the number where Italians exceed 10,000 inhabitants or 10% of the voters.
At the Corriere Canadese, we make it our business to promote the interests of the Italian Canadian Community. We are the “voice” of that Community. We do not exclude others, but, all things being equal, we will prefer the Made in Italy in product, process and culture – it is what Multiculturalism and Integration demands we do. In fact, the Multiculturalism Act, 1971, and common sense say “know yourself” and respect others as you would have them respect you. We are the ideal neighbours.
In that vein, we proposed to show all candidates in this election where their fellow citizens of Italian ethnicity, as per their self-identification to Census 2021, live. We invite the political parties and their candidates to invest in publicizing their platforms (vision of Canada) through our pages.
We are a daily publication – hard copy and digital – making extensive use of social media as well. In fact, we have a combined annual reach that exceeds five (5) million readers. Many of our articles are bilingual (Italian and English).
