The Carpenters’ Regional Council
is saddened by the loss
of Mark J. Lewis

TORONTO – The Carpenters’ Regional Council lost a valuable member of its family last week, Mark J. Lewis (May 28,1962 – July 24,2023). He served as its chief of staff and general counsel, advocating tirelessly for his beloved fellow members.

Mark was a true advocate for the working class, irrespective of whether they were unionized or not. More importantly, manifested a zest for life that he shared with his family: wife Ginny and children Maddy and Morgan.

He dedicated his energy and focused his expertise on all initiatives that were member-centred, applying both with a flair highlighted by friendship and sincerity. These were the hallmarks of his service as legal counsel and his work when Vice-Chair at the Labour Relations Board.

Hundreds, including Premier Doug Ford, members of the Executive and representatives of the Building Industry attended his wake and hi celebration of life at the Paramount Event Space.

St. Basil’s Catholic Church was filled to capacity for his funeral. May he rest in peace.
