DCDSB, Tricia Chapman resigns
Catholic requirements to replace her

DURHAM – The Durham Catholic School Board has opened a call (expired January 22) for a vacancy as Whitby CEO vacated by Tricia Chapman who resigned on December 14 for “personal reasons”.

The Durham Catholic District School Board administrators passed a resolution to fill the vacancy, based on these requirements: be a Canadian citizen who is at least 18 years old; live within the confines of the DCDSB; be a baptized Roman Catholic who appears as a supporter of the English-speaking Roman Catholic School Board on the municipal rating list; and not be an employee of the DCDSB or any other school board or school authority in Ontario.

In light of the recent events involving the Toronto Catholic District School Board, the ban with its strictly Catholic requirements might perhaps sound “strange” to some of the current trustees of the TCDSB itself, but the characteristics required to fill this position within of a Catholic Superintendency are just those.

The successful candidate will be sworn in at the board meeting on February 22.
