YCDSB, the father of a caucasian student: “Racism against white people”
TORONTO –The phenomenon of “reverse racism” exists, and is systemic, in the very country that seeks to portray itself as the “homeland of inclusiveness and equality.” And it’s the racism against white people of European origin and, maybe, even Christian heritage.
The parent of a student at one of the district’s schools denounced it (and demonstrated it with facts) during the latest board meeting of the York Catholic District School Board. He had previously sent his speech to the Board of Trustees, asking to be allowed to read it, as required by the regulations.
Paolo Benedicti (in the pic above) started by presenting himself. “I’m here as a father of a young student of this school district. We are a family of immigrants, who moved to Canada very few years ago, and I never thought that I would have found myself in the need to come here to stand up and speak out to protect my child’s basic rights. Not in Canada, not in the country that it’s supposed to be the land of multiculturalism, of integration, but appears not to be so”. Benedicti then continued by providing evidence of what he said: “Last week I received a communication from this board regarding the student census advisory committees, and reading the list of committees something jumped to my eyes: no committees for European caucasian students? Don’t they exist? Doesn’t my child exist? Doesn’t his friend, just flee from Ukraine, from a war, exist?”.
“Now – Benedicti continued – , in a scenario where is before everyone eyes that the only sistemic racism in Canada nowadays is the one against the white Christians and Jewish, and where, as a fact, my white, Christian, blue-eyed, blonde child has not, by fact, the same freedom of expression like his beloved not white classmates. In this scenario your message appears pretty clear: if you belong to the ethnicity of those who built this country in the first place, we’re not interested in hearing from you, we’re not interested in knowing about your life experience, we’re not interested in your feelings, we don’t care about you. That’s exactly how your message comes across. That is sheer racism, that is explicit discrimination, disgustingly perpetrated against children. This board, unquestionably, unquestionably, appears to violate not only the principals of our Christian faith, but, in my strictly personal opinion, maybe also some of the foundations of our Canadian Charts of Rights and Freedom”.
“And I believe – Benedicti added – that if that was your purpouse, ok, good to know; if not, I think it’s the right time for you all to deal deeply with your conscience, with your Christian values, with your human values, and do the right thing. If you really feel the need to categorize our children by ethnicity, then you must add the missing category: European caucasian children, because they do exist, because all the children deserve the same attention, because we are one in Christ and I’m very happy to be here on the Day of Truth and Reconciliaton when we all aknowledge that all children matter. Despite the apparent opinion on this board” he concluded. No trustee responded to Benedicti’s remarks.
