The Consulate: “Support for Italian Language and Culture in YCDSB Schools”
TORONTO – The Consulate General of Italy in Toronto “is very pleased to announce that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI)- for the 2025-2026 school year- has approved funding for the project submitted by YCDSB ItaliaLinguaCultura, a new Association dedicated to the promotion of Italian language and culture”.
“The project, with an allocated contribution of Euro 173,341.00 (approximately CAD 270,000), focuses on the curricular teaching of the Italian language across 21 schools within the York Catholic District School Board (YCDSB)”.
“Thanks to this contribution, more than 5,300 students will continue to benefit from Italian language and culture education supported by YCDSB ItaliaLinguaCultura”.
The Consulate General also highlights “the financial grants that YCDSB ItaliaLinguaCultura has received, in order to support the same project, by two very active Italian-Canadian Associations : CIBPA – Toronto Chapter (35,000 dollars) and Heritage Calabria (5,000 dollars)”.
