Canio Montesano has passed away

TORONTO – It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Mr. Canio Montesano (in the pic) on November 11, 2025.

Canio was born in Palazzo San Gervasio, Basilicata, on January 3, 1950. In 1974, he married his wife, Incoronata, and together they emigrated to Canada, in the same year. In 1990, Canio joined his brother, Donato, at Lido Construction where he continued to work until recently.

He will be dearly missed by his devoted wife, Incoronata, and by his loving children, Giuseppe, Donato (Maria), and Antonio. Canio was a proud and cherished Nonno to Alessio, Arissa, Alianna, Ariano and Isabella, grandchildren who have been a source of immense pride and joy in his life.

He will be fondly remembered by his siblings Danny Montesano (the late Madeleine), Dorina Summa (Antonio), and Antonio Montesano (Linda). Canio was a loving Zio to Joey and Rosa, Giuseppe, Daniele, Claudia, Sonia, Michele, and Giambino.

Canio is now reunited in eternal peace with his beloved parents, Giuseppe and Rosa, loving daughter Rosa, his sister Maria, and his nephew Rocco.

He will be remembered for his unwavering love for family, his kindness of spirit, and his quiet strength. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.

In memory of Canio, donations may be made to the Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital. Canio will remain forever in our hearts — may he rest in peace!
